The Mt. Shasta Trader’s Co-op announced their next bonanza to be held September 25th from 1-3pm. When asked about the success of the recent co-op bonanzas, the organizer said,

“One time I brought some sprouts to trade. I’d started them about four days before the Co-Op, and an artist brought the most beautiful cutting board to trade. It was inlaid, made with this gorgeous wood, and he wanted my jar of seeds. The board was easily worth $50, so I told him no, and I traded the sprouts for some fruit, I think. Well, the artist was mad. He really wanted my sprouts. I learned then that exchange is about both people getting what they want. Barter is not about the money, but the connection, about what people believe is important to get for what they have to offer.”

For the second quarter ended June 30, 2010, gross revenue improved to $3,541,872 compared with $3,481,819 in the year-ago quarter. The improvements in gross revenue were the results of the company’s successful efforts to increase activity in its corporate barter division. Operating expenses for the quarter were $3,105,100, compared with $3,190,938 in the year-ago second quarter. Operating income for the second quarter 2010 increased 50.2% to $436,762 for the quarter, compared with $290,881 in the second quarter 2009. Net income for the quarter increased 23.8% to $222,717, or $0.02 per diluted share, compared with $179,951, or $0.02 per diluted share reported in the year-ago second quarter. EBITDA (Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization), reached a quarterly record of $840,857, compared with $703,715 for the year-ago second quarter.

For the six months ended June 30, 2010, gross revenue was $6,612,293 compared with $6,833,043 in the year-ago six-month period. Operating expenses for the six-month period were $6,434,735, compared with $6,485,848 in the six-month period of 2009. Operating income for the six-month period was $177,558 compared with $347,195 during the comparable 2009 six-month period. Net loss for the six-month period 2010 was $98,045 or $0.01 per share, compared with net income of $125,582 or $0.01 per share in the year-ago six-month period.

Donald F. Mardak, Chief Executive Officer of International Monetary Systems said, “Our financial results this quarter benefited from an improved mix of business, including an increase in national accounts and a newly instituted program for small- to- medium-sized start-up companies, combined with operational efficiencies that we instituted over the past year. As we continue to demonstrate the benefits of our barter system to larger companies, we have been successful in attracting new business throughout the country, with particular strength from the hospitality industry, where new member enrollment has been brisk.”

“In addition to the improved revenue attributable to national accounts, we also continue to benefit from our core base of small business clients. The combination of these two segments has added much depth to the unique benefits that we offer our expanding group of members, as businesses strive to reduce their inventory levels, and barter for products and services that help to improve their own financial results,” he added.

Mr. Mardak concluded, “We continue to work on improvements to our infrastructure, and expect to launch our new operating system in the third quarter. This, combined with our anticipated growth in national accounts, is expected to continue driving improvements in all aspects of our operation.”

Use of Non-GAAP Measures

Actual results may differ materially from the results predicted and reported results should not be considered as an indication of our future performance.

Great Trade Solutions of North Carolina is claims to have the oldest barter exchange member: Jerry Stokes, 87 years old. Can anyone beat that?

May I introduce myself to you.

I am 87 years old and been a webmaster for over ten year. Mostly for Flea Markets and Small Businesses. My mission is to provide quality websites and Internet services for an affordable annual fee.

I was born in Charlotte, North Carolina in January 14, 1923 and hope to live until the year 2023. The Streets were not paved (dirt) within six blocks of the square. I was borne on 900 block of North Pine near 11th Street.

I have lived in Charlotte all my life except four years in the U.S. Navy, I spent two of the four in the South Pacific, and was with the first offense battle at Tarawa.

In 1944 when I returned to Charlotte, I met my wife Peggy Reed that lived within six block of where I lived before I went in the Navy and we had never met until I returned from service.

We were married in 1948 and have only one child, Sandra, was born in 1950 married to Wayne Montague. Wayne is an only child, so their children have no aunts or uncles or first cousins. She is the Minister of Families and Children at the First Baptist Church of Charlotte and she has a son, Andy, and a daughter, Elizabeth.

After I returned to Charlotte, I worked as a car repo man for a finance company, a Bell Hope at the Hotel Charlotte, and a news butch on the train from Charlotte to Washington, D.C., then opened a used car lot on North Tryon at 11th Street. I took a job as Executive Director for the Carolinas Independent Auto Dealers Association from about 1979 until 1984. Then I organized the N.C. Pawnbrokers Association and published a magazine, Today’s Pawnbroker and sold it to a New York Publishing Firm.

Then, I found the National Flea Market Association and was executive director until 2002 and retired to start a website business for small businesses.

I developed websites to promote websites, such as www.CharlotteBusiness.net to promote small businesses in Charlotte, and www.FindaFleaMarket.com to promote the Flea Market Industry.

Now, I am helping a lady promote a Wholesale Newspaper, www.WholesaleNewspaperOnline.com and have developed www.GreaterTradeSolutions.com to promote www.GreatTradeSolutions.com

After being married to Peggy for 62 years, she wants me to slow down, but I don’t know how.

I have a sign over my computer that says “The day we cease to dream is the day we begin to die.” and I am not ready to die.

God Bless – Jerry Stokes

Brad founded Bartercoach.net a multi-diversified sales oriented company that is focused immediately increasing barter organization’s sales numbers. Brad has been in the trenches of the barter industry and has the tools to help sales teams excel in selling the benefits of barter.

Brad Howard began his career in the barter industry in 1998 with a BXI office in rural Alabama. With a history of being a top sales producer and trainer for other sales teams that were non barter related, Brad began his quest to perfect a scalable system known as the “Buyers Broker” approach. The BXI Alabama office became a top 3 revenue producer in the BXI system under Brad’s leadership. Brad’s Alabama office was continually in the top 3 offices nationally in new member sales. Brad currently leads sales training for all new Biz 2 Biz Commerce offices as well as continuing to manage his own exchange in Georgia.

EATTLE (August 24, 2010) – For the fourth year in row, BizXchange has been named an Inc. 5000 company, a listing of the fastest growing private companies in the United States. This year the business-to-business trade exchange is listed at number 1,093, a jump of over 2,000 spots from the company’s listing in 2009.

By providing companies with the BizX dollar, an alternate form of currency, BizXchange helps businesses generate new sales and allows them to offset expenses by using BizX dollars rather than cash.

“The tough economic climate has made business owners look for creative ways to increase their sales and cash flow,” Bob Bagga, BizXchange CEO said. “Our growth over the last year is testimony to the valuable resource we provide companies and we are honored to be recognized for our commitment to the business community. The success of BizXchange is made possible by our team members, clients and partners around the world.”

With over 2,000 members worldwide, BizXchange has conducted over $300 Million in trade transactions since its inception in 2002. In the last three years the company has had a growth rate of 274 percent.

The Inc. 5000 is an extension of Inc. magazine’s annual Inc. 500 list, a comprehensive listing of the fastest growing companies in America. The list includes companies from the business service industry to IT and internet consulting to retail sales, among many other industries. The 2010 Inc. 5000 list measures revenue growth from 2006 to 2009.

In order to provide more companies the opportunity to increase their business efficiency through organized trade, BizXchange’s future plans include increasing the company’s presence in current markets and opening new offices in key domestic and international markets.

A hearty congrats to BizXchange!
