Shannon Simmons created the Barter Babes website and blog about a year ago, but it was started off with only a trickle of queries. Then three women contacted her with bartered goods – mittens, truffles, preserves and bread – and everything changed.
“They came and when they realized it was quality advice and you actually walk away with real tools you can use — they said, this is actually worth it and there’s no catch. They started to spread the word big time and I literally watched my inbox explode,” says Simmons.
